About 3R Ballistics

3R Ballistics = Ranch, Range, Rifles and Ballistics.

Ranch -For generations, family ranching in New Mexico has been a way of life built on grit, love, and a deep bond with the land. This particular piece of land has been family owned from the 1800s, when great grandparents hauled water by hand and rode out dust storms, which continues to this current day.  Ranching families weathered hard times together, passed down stories and skills, and taught each other the meaning of resilience. Through all the changes, the ranch remained more than a workplace—it was home. The core values of God, hard work, family, and deep connection to the land never wavered.  This land (ranch) is more than special, it's blessed and part of me.

Range - Another very important part of what we do - practice to stay prepared and ballistic testing.  This beautiful land provides in more ways than one.  It also gives us an incredibly beautiful backdrop to practice our marksmanship and test ballistics.  Whether you’re a seasoned hunter or a first-time shooter, safety on the range isn’t just important—it’s everything. A safe range is a confident, enjoyable place to shoot. We constantly use the range to dial in scopes, plinking steel targets, and of course testing ballistics.  Having this safe place makes the experience better for everyone.  Personally, I find fascination with the ballistics and marksmanship of shooting at the range, while holding true to the values of past generations on the land.  The rugged southwest ranchers and cowboys, lever actions and revolvers, hats and boots, God fearing and pride for your country.

Rifles - Rifles are powerful tools, and the key to responsible shooting is respect: for your firearm, your surroundings, and everyone else on the line. While I emphasize rifles, this obviously includes all firearms.  Practice isn’t just about hitting the bullseye—it’s about honoring the skills our parents and grandparents taught us. It means getting comfortable in the same positions they used on the ranch or in the field, taking steady shots, and knowing your firearm like an old friend. It’s those quiet afternoons sighting in, teaching the next generation to breathe, squeeze, and respect the power of what they hold. While guarding livestock or waiting for a deer at sunrise, these are important factors to me.  I also find that having the private range provides the opportunity to safely test new and exciting advancements within firearms.  However, sometimes there is more marketing than improvements and that's where I believe our testing and reviewing for all to see can help those out there make an informed decision for themselves. Also, I'm an interested fella - interested in the understanding of how and why things work.  Understanding for myself the debates within the firearms world - 9mm vs 45acp - 5.56 vs 7.62x39 - kinetic energy vs velocity -  etc...

I hope this very short explanation of "3R" will bring some light to the channel.  It's not much and I could write so much more but before I get too far into my personal life, take this for what it is.  And like always, my email is always open  3RBallistics@gmail.com
